PROGRAMME:
The KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra will present a Gala Concert on Sunday, 17 May at 15h00 at the Durban Jewish Club Hall in a special collaboration with the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra.
This exciting musical partnership will bring together some of KwaZulu-Natal’s finest young musicians and professional orchestral performers for an inspiring afternoon of orchestral music, solo performances, and collaborative artistry.
The concert will feature eight talented youth orchestra soloists performing a variety of solo works accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra. Audiences can also look forward to selected orchestral works presented by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as a showcase performance by the KwaZulu-Natal Youth Orchestra.
The afternoon will culminate in a powerful grand finale featuring both orchestras performing together under the baton of conductors Chad Hendricks and Lyk Temmingh. This unique collaboration celebrates the growth of young musical talent in KwaZulu-Natal while providing emerging performers with the invaluable experience of sharing the stage with a professional symphony orchestra.
