Collaborations

Making Music Together

Do you see the future the same way we do? A future where creativity is a prized and highly esteemed facet of our everyday lives, and where the arts, in their alchemy of the logical, the intellectual, the creative and the beautiful meet to create platforms that provide the solutions to real life challenges faced by society…

We are passionate about working with other arts organisations who share our vision for excellence and creativity; those who continually refine their offerings and their crafts to breathe beauty into the world.

If you’re looking to collaborate with us, please check out our list of guidelines. If, once you’ve browsed them, you would like to reach out to us – please send an email with an event proposal to marketing@kznphil.org.za.

Collaboration Guidelines

Time, Resources, Quality

1. TIME
To be able to collaborate effectively, we need a heads up on time. While we occasionally make exceptions in exceptional circumstances, we don’t like making a habit of booking collabs at short notice.

2. RESOURCES
We live in a world with limited resources. Please let us know, from the outset, how you intend to pay for the production you’re envisioning. Depending on how your vision aligns to ours, we may make certain financial concessions on the regular costs of our work, but please note that this is at our discretion, and is dependent on available resources.

3. QUALITY
While we are committed to providing performance platforms for emerging talent, our musicians have trained for many years to achieve a certain level of success, and we are respectful of their contribution to the high quality of our output. As such, we are always excited to partner with other organisations who have attained excellence in their respective fields, and/or who have a passion for exposing audiences and performers to high-level artistry.

it needs to be said

We remain accountable to our many stakeholders for the way we employ our resources, and are always grateful for collaborators who approach productions without undervaluing artistic product. We appreciate well-planned events, excellent communication, customer service and great artistic output.

Woven into the fabric of South Africa’s national identity, the KZN Philharmonic aims to steward our diverse musical history and heritage, whilst also moving music forward, both within our own country and throughout the world.
