Catching Up On Community & Education

We’re back – visiting schools around the province!

With the lull in Covid-19 cases, the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra has been delighted to recommence our Education Concerts at schools throughout the province. Covid permitting, the months of May and June 2021 will see the Orchestra visiting more than 15 institutions, with an education programme that features popular classics as well as excerpts from Peter and the Wolf.

All concerts are conducted with strict health and safety protocols in place; students are seated in a socially distanced manner and the Orchestra has implemented the use of perspex windows around those players whose instruments prohibit them from using masks.

The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra’s dynamic Community and Education Programme has earned it admiration and acclaim from many of those it impacts. The Programme incorporates an array of initiatives that bring the transformative power of music to communities in various locations around the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Its robust agenda sees music education through the lens of exposure, upliftment, impartation, mastery and reinvestment, meeting people from all walks of life at each phase of the journey.
